I am taking part in this years Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise as much a I can to support the ongoing work of the Back Up Trust and support families who have been affected by spinal cord injuries. 13 October 2024
My Story

Just over 20 years ago, when I was 5 years old, my dad was injured in a motorcycle accident and suffered a serious spinal cord injury leaving him paralysed. Life does not always go to plan, but our family’s life has been all the richer for the immeasurable support from Back Up. Dad learnt wheelchair skills to tackle cities, he learnt how to sit ski and he learnt a new way to be a Dad to my two brothers and me. I can’t imagine it was easy but he did it and I grew up with my Dad wheeling along by my side.
If you know me, I am no runner but I’m setting myself the challenge to run a half marathon this October to raise money and awareness for this amazing charity. This money will go on to help more people with spinal cord injuries learn the skills to get back up the mountain and living life to the full.
